SOTS – Das Racist “Combination Pizza Hut And Taco Bell” (Wallpaper. REMIX)

SOTS – Songs of the Summer
It’s been such a longtime since my last SOTW post I just decided to add my top 3 songs of the summer.
Also I just discovered that I have too many things to post for each song so I’m going to give each song it’s own post.

Das Racist “Combination Pizza Hut And Taco Bell” (Wallpaper. REMIX)

First I have to note that Wallpaper. (the period is part of the name FYI)  made this song what it is today.  Yes, Das Racist created it… but it was nothing before Wallpaper. turned it to gold. This song is incredibly easy to sing, dance and eat along to.  My 3 year thinks she likes Taco Bell now because of this song! I should have a video of my kids singing along to the song but that would just be too predictable.
So here is a combination of videos about the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.

and I just love this video

I first experienced Wallpaper. as the opening act at a Rye Rye and Thunderheist show. Everyone that night was amazing and the 20 other people in the audience also witnessed music history in that rat infested back alley venue in Philly.
I loved Rye Rye and Thunderheist but for me the auto-tunned Wallpaper stole the show.

Here’s an iphone pic from the show.

You can expect to hear a lot more of Wallaper. after his album Doodoo Face drops this month.

M.I.A. and Rye Rye

Sometimes a song/video/movie comes along that can completely embody a certain place and time.  I flipped out after watching Rye Rye’s “Shake It To The Ground” music video on youtube. This video is Bmore 05′ ish!

Shortly after falling in love with this song and video I noticed that Rye Rye was touring with M.I.A. and was scheduled to perform at a show I already had tickets for that weekend.
The show was amazing but I was bummed to find out that Rye Rye didn’t have a CD…

But today I found these interviews with M.I.A.

So keep a look out for Rye Rye, the first artist signed to M.I.A.’s new label N.E.E.T. and her album in 2009.
Also I can’t wait to pick up the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack!
