Tutorial – How to transfer files from iPhone to computer and back (through USB)

You will need the program DiskAid for this tutorial.
This tutorial shows you how to take Cycorder movies off your iPhone,
put NES ROMs on your iPhone,
and lastly how to add a custom font to the lock clock screen with FontSwap.

I used the program FontLab Studio to create the font.
And you can find more info on FontSwap here on the developer’s blog.

SOTW The Tallest Man On Earth “Honey Won’t You Let Me In”

It’s been a long time coming… My daughter tipped me off when she started requesting to hear “The Blizzard’s Never Seen The Desert Sands”.
I recorded this video of her singing along in my car. This was also the first video I recorded on my iphone using Cycorder.

It’s hard to pick just one song from the album cause they are all so good, and I usually listen to the album in it’s entirety…  but this is one of my faves.

Stache

Half way into March and still going strong!

Dan Deacon – Bromst

I loved Spiderman Of The Rings, so it would be hard to top that album for me.  I was crazy excited to listen to the new album after watching the In the Studio videos on Pitchfork.

Dan Deacon, as you can see, brings up my favorite question of the 00’s… Hipster or Retard?

Although I like the new album and it has some a new sounds, in the end it really feels the exact same as Spiderman Of The Rings.  Hopefully on his next album Dan will be able to keep his integrity but come up with a new sound in the same way M83 broke out of their own mould with Saturdays=Youth.

I have to warn you…  Pitchfork’s “In the Studio” video might set your expectations too high.  So listen to the album first.  Despite what you think about the album, in the end you have to respect the genius that went into it.  Just watch this player piano video and you will know exactly what I’m talking about.

Here is one of my favorite songs from the album Woof Woof

Snookered is real good too it’s just a bit too long for a blog.

In the end, it’s good.  So go get it!
You can listen to the entire album now on NPR.

Oh where, Oh where, did my doughnuts go? ;_(

I tried to pick up my favorite doughnuts from the Fractured Prune the other day to share with my whole office, just to find out that they shut down!  My wife first discovered these doughnuts in Ocean City and we have been hooked since.  The shop that closed was super close to our house but luckily I found another shop about 15min away.
We are going this Sunday!

Why are they so good?
I would have never considered myself a doughnut fan before… I’ve been jaded from years of nasty, cold, 10hr. old, Dunkin’ Doughnuts consumption.  But the Fractured Prune’s doughnuts are made fresh to order and hand dipped in deliciousness.

My fav is Trail Mix
Banana / Nuts / Coconut / Jimmies

If they are so good why did the shop around me close?
Bad Marketing
They cut their hours when times got tough and expected to build a customer base solely with word of mouth. Not going to happen with their hard to find location! They should have had a free doughnut day or had that big stuffed prune guy stand out on route 40. Too late now!

Moustache March

And so it begins!
I was going for an eventual Tombstone stache…

with the bars veering out.
But my son said I looked like Boothie. I got excited thinking that I looked like some cartoon character so I asked him who Boothie was and what show he was on.
To that he replied, no Dad! like Boothie and Lincoln.
Yes, he meant John Wilkes Booth!
He must have seen a picture when they were learning about President’s Day…

So according to my son, I look like the creepy guy that shot Lincoln. Well if I ever get to meet Sarah Vowell she might like my Moustache.

I will post more pics as March progresses.
